Sarasota 4th of July: Fireworks & Events Guide

Drone show lighting up the sky over Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch on the 4th of July

Independence Day 2026 is going to be a big one across the Sarasota area. The 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year, which means more events, bigger crowds, and a packed fireworks calendar.

It also happens to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary (the Semiquincentennial, branded America250), and several events are leaning into the milestone with rededications and expanded patriotic programming.

Below is a complete guide to every fireworks show, parade, and Independence Day event across the Sarasota metro, grouped by area so you can pick a show close to home.

Englewood

Light Up Lemon Bay 4th of July Fireworks

📍 Blind Pass Beach Park
🕐 6–9pm · 🎆 9:05pm
🏷️ Free

Englewood’s longtime community fireworks night, presented by the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary and rebranded “Light Up Lemon Bay” for America’s 250th. The show launches from Blind Pass Beach and lights up the sky over Lemon Bay starting at 9:05pm.

Down at Pioneer Plaza, the Walking Pineapples Band and food trucks run 6–9pm. You can also spread out anywhere around Lemon Bay and the nearby beaches for a clean view.

Bring blankets or chairs, patriotic attire, and plenty of community spirit.

North Port / Wellen Park

North Port Freedom Festival

📍 CoolToday Park (Wellen Park)
🕐 6–9:30pm · 🎆 9pm
🏷️ Free

North Port goes big for the 4th. Gates open at 6pm to the Patriotic Play Zone on the Event Lawn — bounce houses, lawn games, Touch-A-Truck — and Firecracker Lane along the stadium concourse with merch vendors, nonprofits, and food trucks.

The 7pm opening ceremony brings out the full patriotic package: the North Port Young Marines present the colors, Jennifer Montalvo sings the National Anthem, and a formation flyover from the Gulf Coast Raptors closes it out. Dukes of Brinkley then headline from 7:15 right up to the 9pm fireworks.

Take a stadium seat or sprawl on the Event Lawn (BYO blankets and chairs). The whole show is registered as one of America’s Ultimate Block Party sites for the 250th.

Celebrate America Concert

📍 Downtown Wellen Park
🕐 6–9pm
🏷️ Free

The lead-in to the CoolToday Park fireworks, set under the Heritage Tree on the downtown lawn. Country artist Chas Collins headlines a three-hour set, with food and drinks available from the Downtown Wellen restaurants and shops.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Outside coolers, personal fireworks, and sparklers aren’t permitted.

Venice / Nokomis

Venice July 4 Fireworks

📍 North Brohard Beach
🎆 9–9:30pm
🏷️ Free

Venice’s headline beach show pulls 12,000+ to the Gulf every 4th. Zambelli sets up just north of the Venice Fishing Pier and fires bursts up to 300 feet high — big enough to see from Nokomis Beach in the north all the way down to Caspersen Beach in the south.

You don’t need to be at the launch site to catch it. Venice Beach, Service Club Park, North and South Brohard, and Maxine Barritt Park all give clean Gulf views.

Parking is free at every listed beach plus the Venice Community Center and along Harbor Dr — but bike or carpool if you can. Venice gets crowded on the 4th.

Fourth of July Community Picnic & Centennial Parade

📍 Historic Downtown Venice
🕐 Parade 9:30am · Picnic 11am–1pm
🏷️ Free

A daytime celebration pulling double duty this year — America’s 250th and the City of Venice’s own Centennial.

The parade steps off at 9:30am and winds through Historic Downtown to W. Blalock Park; grab a spot along W. Venice Ave or Nassau St to watch.

The party then moves to the Venice Community Center at 11am. Expect food trucks and hot dogs, music and dancing, face painting, balloons, airbrush tattoos, and an Uncle Sam look-alike contest (line up at the stage at 11:30am).

Over at W. Blalock Park find lawn games and roaming characters, plus watermelon eating contests by age group at 11:30, noon, and 12:30.

Pop’s 4th of July

📍 Pop's Sunset Grill
🕐 Afternoon onward · 🎆 ~9pm (Venice show, dock view)
🏷️ Free

Pop’s runs an all-day party on the Nokomis waterfront — and the dock view of the Venice fireworks at the end is the real draw.

Courtyard music kicks off mid-afternoon, the tiki bar opens for business in the late afternoon, and the kids’ crew shows up early with face painting and balloon animals.

Grab a dock seat as the sun drops and you’re set for one of the best free fireworks views on the south side.

Sarasota / Siesta Key

Sarasota Bayfront Fireworks Celebration

📍 Bayfront Park
🎆 ~9pm
🏷️ Free

The big one!

Sarasota’s marquee free show launches right over the bay — and most waterfront perches downtown offer a clean line of sight. Bayfront Park is first-come, first-served, so plant a chair early.

Marina Jack opens up reservation-only riverside dining for those who’d rather order a drink than wrestle for a spot.

Siesta Key Community Fireworks

📍 Siesta Key Public Beach
🎆 ~9:15pm (dusk)
🏷️ Free (donation-funded)

The region’s quietly iconic free fireworks night that is community and donation-funded. Zambelli’s pyrotechnicians launch from a beach setup just north of the volleyball courts, and the audience spreads out along the sand to the south.

You can watch from anywhere on the public beach or stretching south along Crescent Beach — and yes, you’ll be standing on the world’s best sand while watching.

The catch is parking, which can be tough. The smart move is to roll up hours before sunset, bike in, or rent on the key for the night and skip the post-show traffic crawl entirely.

Throw a few bucks toward the show fund if you can — it only happens because locals chip in.

Sarasota Bay Explorers — 4th of July Cruise

📍 Departs from 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy (City Island)
🕐 7:30pm · 3.25-hr cruise · 🎆 ~9pm
🎟️ $50 (Kids 2 & under free)

A front-row seat to the bayfront fireworks from the water. The Bay Explorers boat departs City Island at 7:30pm, motors into Sarasota Bay with live narration from the crew, and anchors up for the show as the sky lights up.

Soda, water, and chips are sold aboard, but you’re welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks in a small cooler. Open alcohol just has to be corked or finished before docking.

Capacity is capped at 38, so book early.

Fourth of July All-American Cookout

📍 Selby Gardens (Downtown)
🕐 5:30–9:30pm · 🎆 ~9pm (bayfront view)
🎟️ GA $35 adults ($25 members) · All-Inclusive $200

A longstanding Selby summer tradition with the bayfront fireworks landing right over the gardens.

Lawn games and activities fill the Great Lawn, the Spheres Bubble Show by Blaise Rhynds keeps the kids mesmerized, and a fireworks finale caps the night over Sarasota Bay. Come hungry as local vendors serve up smoky barbecue, frozen treats, and festive summer sweets for purchase throughout the evening.

You’ve got two ways to do it. General Admission gets you onto the grounds with food available à la carte ($35 adults, $25 for members). If you’d rather settle in and let someone else handle the rest, the All-Inclusive package ($200 adults) bundles parking, a Michael’s On East buffet, and open bar inside the air-conditioned Event Center with prime fireworks viewing.

Rain or shine. General Admission guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and bug spray.

🎟️ $15 pool party · $20 night party (VIP available)

Perspective Rooftop Pool Bar runs two parties on the 4th. The daytime pool party goes 12–6pm ($15, swimwear welcome) with a DJ, drink promos, and a special menu.

The deck then reopens 7:30pm–1am for a $20 night party with partial fireworks views. It’s a block off the bay, so expect to catch part of the show rather than a front-row seat. VIP tables are available; dress to impress for the evening.

🏷️ Free

The historic Gator Club takes over its corner of Main Street for an America’s 250th block party, with live music, food trucks, drinks, and good vibes running all night.

It’s a 21+ scene built for downtown bar energy — come for the music and the crowd rather than the fireworks view.

📍 Waterside Place
🕐 6–9pm · 🎆 9pm drone show (no fireworks)
🏷️ Free

Lakewood Ranch’s newer marquee 4th of July event — and the only drone show in the region, which makes it a different kind of spectacle. It’s a family-first event with a clean, modern twist on the usual fireworks formula.

The three hours leading up to the drone show include Circus Arts Conservatory performers, magician/mentalist Star Newman, classic carnival games, a Kids Zone, and local food vendors.

The 2025 inaugural drew 8,000+ so expect an even bigger crowd this year.

Bradenton

Bradenton Alive: July 4th Celebration

📍 Rossi Park & Riverwalk + Downtown Bradenton
🕐 Riverwalk 5–9:30pm · Downtown 7–11pm · 🎆 ~9pm
🏷️ Free

Billed as the largest fireworks display in the area, Bradenton’s biggest 4th sprawls across two hubs this year for America’s 250th.

Rossi Park and the Riverwalk run 5–9:30pm with Twinkle on the music stage, a children’s area on the Great Lawn, and plenty of food and merchandise vendors. The fireworks burst over the Manatee River around 9pm.

Downtown Bradenton keeps the party going from 7pm to 11pm, with Luna and the Warriors headlining.

Before You Head Out

Whichever show you pick, arrive earlier than you think you need to. Saturday + America’s 250th means it’s likely to be the busiest 4th of July the region has seen in years.

Have a parking plan, and have fun out there.
